A Day with the Elements

An exciting and creative day in nature, based in the evocative landscape around Southease YHA, at Itford Farm. The four of us are experienced in widely different fields: contemporary dance, creative writing, photography and alternative healing therapies. The sum total, we hope, is a unique day of creative renewal and strengthening of our inner resources.

Barbara will gently introduce us to Five Element Qi Gong, to connect to the inner and outer energies at the start of the day. The effect is grounding and enlivening.

Ruth says, "Using your senses and intuition you will begin to write your way into the natural world. A camera is a useful tool for recalling or changing perspective on your experience so bring yours along (digital only) to see how the images you collect can deepen your writing in the explored landscape."

Patrick says, "Relax and see with fresh eyes, pick up the energy of the Downs, ancient trees, the River Ouse, flowers and wild creatures. Find new words from the heart, listening to the spirit of place. My inspiration is John Clare, whose poetry lives and breathes read in the open air."

Cat brings an international training in contemporary dance, and will work with you for freedom and flow in an embodied response to nature. Using imagery from nature to influence your body and movement creating an exploratory experience. Inner stillness will match the vitality of nature.
